Review: S.E.C.R.E.T. by L. Marie Adeline
S.E.C.R.E.T. is an amazing book. I was so into it that I found it hard to put down. Especially after L. Marie Adeline introduces us to this amazing club that, fingers crossed, may or may not exist in the real world. Who wouldn’t want this kind of sexual liberation? (No worries, Committee. I see you plotting my induction!) Oh, now you want to know all about it? Well, check out our Breakdown then get a copy for yourself!
Author Description:
In S.E.C.R.E.T there are…
No judgments. No limits. No shame.
Cassie Robichaud’s life has been filled with regret and loneliness since the death of her husband. She waits tables at the rundown Café Rose in New Orleans, and every night she heads home to her solitary one-bedroom apartment. But when she discovers a notebook left behind by a mysterious woman at the café, Cassie’s world is forever changed. The notebook’s stunningly explicit confessions shock and fascinate Cassie, and eventually lead her to S∙E∙C∙R∙E∙T, an underground society dedicated to helping women realize their wildest, most intimate sexual fantasies. Cassie soon immerses herself in an electrifying journey through a series of ten rapturous fantasies with gorgeous men who awaken and satisfy her like never before. As she is set free from her inhibitions, she discovers a new confidence that transforms her, giving her the courage to live passionately. Equal parts enticing, liberating and emotionally powerful, S∙E∙C∙R∙E∙T is a world where fantasy becomes reality.

| Story Line | |
| Wow. Amazing. Emotional. Captivating. (Let me break out my thesaurus) Stupendous. Astonishing. Better? I can't seem to find one word to describe how much I loved this. It's a completely new story. You'll be left wanting more! | |
| Heroine Likability | |
| I fell in love with Cassie. I felt every emotion she was feeling. I wasn't just watching her grow over the year time lapse, I was her personal cheerleader. I was pulling for her more than I ever pulled for Ana Steele. | |
| Hero Likability | |
| Which Hero do I pick? Cassie comes in contact, sometimes beaver first, with a few different men as part of her fantasies. But, oddly, I was OK with the mix. I wanted her to experience more! For herself, and for me. Will plays a pretty big part in Cassie's life. Her struggle with him lasts the whole book. I wasn't the only one wishing some of the escapades could be with Will! He's a great other half to Cassie. | |
| True-To-Life | |
| I feel this may be a little far fetched. But, I am hoping it's only because I'm not in the know! Is that what those Pandora charms are all about? Hmm. If not, some group of older, rich, sexually liberated women need to take a hint and get to work! What do we want? Liberation! When do we want it? Yesterday! | |
| Sex Scenes | |
| It wasn't necessarily the act of sex that was so hot in this book. When it happened, it was great. But the foreplay and sexual tension were just as important. This really get the slip-n-slide ready if you know what I mean. | |
| Writing Style | |
| I enjoyed Ms. Adeline's writing style. There was enough descriptions to get me to the setting, but my senses were not overwhelmed. Even sex scenes were expertly written. The transition from issue to resolution was phenomenal. I didn't have to take notes to follow the flow of the book. It felt natural even given the time lapse between steps. | |
| Predictability | |
| I might has well have been reading blind folded, if that were possible. The was so much that happened that I didn't expect. I never had this book figured out. I loved the twists and turns of the S.E.C.R.E.T. club. I must find the sign up sheet. Now. | |
| The Happily Ever After | |
| Man, if only I could tell you! I sure hope there is a second to this book. I need to know what comes next. It can't be over. Strings are still untied! Even the string that is obviously charred can be mended! Oh please let it be mended!! What a cliff hanger. | |
